This is the moving reason Kate Middleton set up her ‘Heads Together’ project

This is so sweet. The lovely Prince William has revealed that working as an ambulance pilot had an effect on him and his family life. This week, he spoke at an event to launch his Mental Health At Work initiative, where he opened up. “You’re just seeing all the sad things, all the pain everyday.

I took a lot home without realising it.” “If you see sad things every day, you think all life is like that… I think that for the medical community, particularly, it must weigh a lot on their minds.” “That you’re always dealing with despair, sadness, injury, things that are really quite troubling. The attrition builds up and you don’t really have the opportunity to off-load it.” And this may just be the reason why Heads Together was launched. In 2017, William admitted that it was his wife’s idea to start the project. “It was Catherine who first realised that all three of us were working on mental health in our individual areas of focus.” Might it have been her own experiences and her husband’s that spurred on the suggestion of the launch? Probably. Kate Middleton and William are joined by Harry and Meghan in their work on the campaign. Prince William’s main aim? “My thing really is to get more men talking about their issues before it is too late, and to stop feeling so strong and unable to seek help.”

Diana, William and Harry’s Saturday night routine with McDonald’s and Blind Date

Diana, William and Harry’s Saturday night routine with McDonald’s and Blind Date

Princess Diana’s wish was always clear – she wanted her boys to have a normal life, or as normal as possible for heirs to the throne. This wasn’t always easy, as they had to attend official events from a young age and were constantly surrounded by security, palace staff and the media. But behind closed doors it was a very different story, and Diana got her wish with parts of her home life with Princes William and Harry. And while you might assume they spent their Saturday nights dining at top London restaurants or doing other exclusive things – their ritual was unbelievably normally, and identical to many homes up and down the country at the time. Away from royal duties, things were very different

Diana’s former butler and close friend Paul Burrell told about the trio’s “Saturday night ritual”. The loving mum would take her boys to McDonald’s, where they would order Big Macs and chips. They would then come home and sit on a giant stuffed hippopotamus Diana had in front of the TV and watch Blind Date. Mr Burrell said: “The three of them would nip to McDonald’s for a Big Mac and fries before coming back to watch Blind Date. All three of them would squat on this massive, stuffed hippopotamus Diana had in her sitting room.

Who didn’t love a bit of Blind Date?! “They loved Blind Date and I’d hear them all screaming things like “Oh don’t pick him!” and “Lorra, lorra fun”. “William and Harry also talk about pictures from two albums Diana made for each of them. “It was her giving them the story of their lives in pictures and they have their names in gold lettering on the front. “When they got married and had children of their own, she wanted them to show them – and I’m sure that’s what William is doing with George and Charlotte.” Sound familiar?

The boys reportedly loved McDonald’s, and last year the family’s former chef Darren McGrady recalled a day Princess Diana took them for a last minute treat. He said: “I remember the Princess [Diana] came into the kitchen one day and said, ‘Cancel lunch for the boys I’m taking them out, we’re going to McDonald’s. “And I said, ‘Oh my god your royal highness, I can do that, I can do burgers.’ And she said, ‘No, it’s the toy they want.'”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s First Royal Tour Will Support Causes They Care About Along The Way

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s First Royal Tour Will Support Causes They Care About Along The Way

It’s going to be a busy fall for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. On Monday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their first Royal Tour.

Kensington Palace previously revealed that the newlyweds would be visiting Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand, but a formal itinerary and new details about the trip weren’t made public until now. According to a royal press release, the trip will take place between Tuesday, Oct. 16 and Wednesday, Oct. 31.

The trip will begin in Sydney, Australia, from which the royals will depart for Fiji and Tonga, before rounding out the trip with a return Australia and a visit to New Zealand. The Royals were invited to visit Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand by the country’s respective governments, while their trip through Fiji and Tonga was requested by the Foreign and Commonwealth office, according to Kensington Palace. As for the agenda, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will use these visits to tackle important issues and intend to talk with leaders about youth leadership, environmental, and conservation efforts. They will also attend the dedication of several of the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy projects, and support the 2018 Sydney Invictus Games for the rehabilitation of servicemen and women. Prince Harry started the international event, which brings together wounded or injured veterans to compete in adaptive sports, according to the foundation’s website.

This will be the couple’s first official royal tour, but it won’t be their first time travelling since their wedding in May. In July, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went on a two-day tour of Ireland, according to Harper’s Bazaar. The visit was their first trip out of England as a married couple, and they took the opportunity to meet with President Michael Higgins and his wife, Sabina Coyne. The trip to Dublin was brief in comparison to their upcoming travels, which will take the couple away from home for several weeks. The 2018 Invictus Games are sure to be a highlight of the international visit. The games hold a special meaning for Prince Harry and Markle. The couple made their first public appearance together at the Toronto Games in September of 2017. The two were seen holding hands and sitting together during the event, making it their first joint engagement after nearly a year of dating. In April, the engaged couple attended a reception to celebrate the forthcoming Invictus Games, according to People. They also appeared at the U.K. Trials the same month, once again showing up to support the event.

Prince Harry and Markle cheered on the 400 athletes competing for the 72 spots on the United Kingdom’s team the Paralympic-style games. According to E!, Markle told one of the competitors that she was already looking forward to the event in October. “She told me that she had never been to Australia, but was going to this year’s event and was really looking forward to being there with Harry,” rugby competitor Michael Mallon told the publication. It looks like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have a busy couple of weeks during the tour, and their time at the games in Sydney, Australia will likely be a meaningful moment from the trip. Prince Harry is already planning for the future of the event — in June, he revealed the 2020 Invictus Games will be hosted in The Hague, Netherlands, according to Time.

The preparations for future events will come after the couple is able to see another successful competition in the Fall. While the Invictus Games will be making the itinerary, Kensington Palace has yet to reveal further details about the trip. The official announcement from Kensington Palace promises more information will be released when the autumn tour date is closer. Either way, the trip is already shaping up to be an eventful couple of weeks for the Royals.

Prince Harry breaks into song as he takes to the stage after watching hit musical Hamilton with the Meghan

Prince Harry burst into song as he took to the stage after a special charity performance of hip-hop musical Hamilton, leaving the cast and audience thrilled. The Duke of Sussex joked about playing his ancestor King George III in the hit play, which mocks the British monarchy during the founding of modern-day America. He was joined by the Duchess of Sussex and the show’s creator Lin-Manuel Miranda on Wednesday night for a performance to raise money for the duke’s HIV charity, Sentebale.

And, after coming on stage to give an after-show speech, he broke into mock-song with a rendition of You’ll Be Back, which is sung by the George III character. He crooned: “You say…” before cutting himself off and saying to Miranda: “You did try, but I said no.” Miranda told the audience he envisioned the character during his honeymoon, adding: “Smash cut to 2018 I’m sitting next to his sixth-great grandson. Ladies and gentlemen, the Duke of Sussex.” Harry and Meghan meet the cast and crew of Hamilton

After meeting the duke for the first time that evening, he earlier told reporters “you don’t often get a direct descendent” to watch the show set in the 18th century. “The prince’s sixth-great-grandfather is a character so that’ll be fun and surreal for all of us,” he said. Harry and Meghan sat among the audience in the royal circle in London’s Victoria Palace Theatre during the show. But after the public had left they went onstage to share their appreciation for the performance with the cast, including the man who played the king. The performance was to raise money for the duke’s HIV charity, Sentebale

Meghan told actors the energy on the night was “palpable”, adding: “It was so engaging, every moment of it.” Harry said: “That was absolutely incredible.” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex take their seats next to Lin Manuel Miranda.

Both had already seen the show, but were hosting the gala performance for Sentebale, which Harry founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho after the duke’s gap year there. Nearly £300,000 was said to have been raised through ticket sales and donations for the charity that works to improve prospects for children and young people affected by HIV in southern Africa.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are due to go on their royal tour this autumn and will be going to Australia to attend the Invictus Games, which Harry set up for injured and disabled army veterans. Now football ace David has been named an ambassador to the games, so he’ll be heading Down Under in October to spend time with the newlyweds in the royal box. David shared the news in a post on Instagram, writing: “I’ve been lucky enough to meet and work with many serving, veteran and wounded British armed forces personnel over the years and I’ve been humbled by the courage, resilience and spirit shown by each and every one of them. The entire Invictus Games team, led by the Duke of Sussex, has achieved remarkable things in such a short space of time, using sport as a powerful force to rehabilitate and unite and I can’t wait to be part of the energy and the excellence of the Games this year.”

Although he doesn’t say whether wife Victoria will be joining him in Sydney, it would be a chance for her to form a bond with fashion fan Meghan and get closer to the couple. Who knows, she may even get the Duchess to wear some of her next VB collection – and there’s no better ad for a brand than that. Why Meghan Markle has inspired the Queen to modernise and ‘rebrand’ the Royal Family

Why Meghan Markle has inspired the Queen to modernise and ‘rebrand’ the Royal Family

Meghan Markle, 37, became the Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex when she married Prince Harry, 33, in May. Born in Los Angeles and a former actress, Meghan was not the usual type expected to marry a prince, but her presence in the Royal Family has been widely accepted.

Most importantly, her presence is believed to have been very welcomed by the Queen, who is reported to now be inspired by her granddaughter-in-law. According to reports, the Queen is actually thinking about modernising the Royal Family and is set on ensuring its survival. Former Buckingham Palace staffer, Coleen Harris, told People magazine the Queen is now more open to change than ever. Talking to the magazine, she said: “The Queen is allowing the Royal family to modernise. “We have come a really long way. They are not stuffy and immovable.” The Queen is said to want her family to be more “open” to change. Coleen also claimed that the Queen and the monarchy have already come a long way, revealing some people working in the palace were actually “quite shocked” when Her Majesty gave Prince William her permission to marry Kate Middleton back in 2010. Despite having some link to aristocracy and being upper-middle class, the Queen reportedly thought of Kate as “an ordinary middle-class girl with no background in royalty or aristocracy.”

Kate even lived a normal life before marrying Prince William in 2011, working two different jobs, including for a high street retailer.  The Queen’s decision to allow Prince Harry to marry Meghan Markle shows how she is set on modernising the Royals and adapting to modern times, abolishing age-old protocol and unwritten rules. Over 80 years ago the monarchy was in a very different place, when the Queen’s uncle, Edward VIII, was forced to abdicate when he was denied the right to marry his lover, Wallis Simpson. Just like Wallis, Meghan is American and divorced, something that would have been unheard of in the Royal Family until Megan became the Duchess of Sussex. The Queen is said to think of Meghan as a “positive person”, with royal expert and autobiographer Katie Nicholls commenting: “When you look at Meghan on paper she is not necessarily what you might expect of a conventional royal fiancée and that she’s American, she’s a well-known face. “Everything from being a divorcée to being a bit older than Prince Harry, to coming from a dual heritage family, you might wonder if the Queen being of a certain generation and, of course, being the Queen might have been at all concerned.

“But everything I heard from the sources I spoke to was that she really felt from the outset that Meghan was a positive person in Prince Harry’s life.” In 2013 the Royal Family also made a huge step forward when parliament passed the new Succession to the Crown Act. The new act altered the laws of succession to the throne, meaning the eldest child, regardless of gender, would precede their siblings. Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning monarch in history, and no doubt want to ensure the monarchy’s future is safe. One royal who is known for being particularly modern and forward-thinking is the Queen’s granddaughter Princess Eugenie. Getting married in October, Eugenie is enforcing one very modern rule on her wedding day.  Who is Meghan Markle? Quick profile Meghan Markle was born Rachel Meghan Markle, on August 4, 1981 to parents Doria Ragland and father Thomas Markle.

Her father was previously married to Roslyn Loveless and Meghan has two elder half sibling – sister Samantha Markle and brother Thomas Markle Junior. Actress Meghan’s first television appearance in the USA was in an episode of the medical drama General Hospital in 2002. She later moved on to roles in CSI, Without a Trace and Castle along with bit parts in Hollywood films including Get Him to the Greek, Remember Me and Horrible Bosses. Meghan was also a “briefcase girl” on Deal or No Deal – but her most famous role was as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits, which launched in 2011. She was written out in the finale of the seventh series when her character got married, which aired in April 2018 – just before she got married herself. Charity and humanitarian work Meghan Markle’s career in television has gone hand-in-hand with her support for causes close to her heart.

She wrote about the stigma around menstrual health in an article for Time magazine and was a Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada – with whom she travelled to Rwanda for the charity’s Clean Water Campaign. And her commitment to gender equality has seen her work with the United Nations – receiving a standing ovation in 2015 for her speech to mark International Women’s Day. Relationships In September 2011, she wed film producer Trevor Engelson, who she began dating in 2004. But the pair divorced two years later in August 2013, citing irreconcilable difference. She was in a relationship with celebrity chef Cory Vitiello for almost two years, before they broke it off in 2016 but the two remain good friends. And in June 2016, she met Prince Harry on a blind date set up by a mutual friend. Their relationship began in October that year and just over one year later, on November 27, 2017, the pair announced their engagement. They married on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Meghan’s heritage Some have claimed Meghan Markle is the first mixed-race member of the Royal Family. Historians are still arguing about Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III.

But Meghan will be the first royal to openly embrace a mixed-race heritage. She has written about the difficulties of being a biracial actress in Hollywood as she claims she is not black enough for some roles and not white enough for others.

How Meghan Markle won Princess Charlotte and Prince George over with clever trick

How Meghan Markle won Princess Charlotte and Prince George over with clever trick

Meghan Markle is settling into Royal life just fine, especially since she’s won over Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Sources close to the family told Entertainment Tonight the Duchess of Sussex used her kitchen skills to impress the younger members of the monarchy. The insider said: ‘An avid cook, Meghan often pops around to visit with Kate and the kids dropping off treats.’ Meghan Markle is reportedly settling into Royal life just fine, making nice with Prince George and Prince Charlotte The Duchess of Sussex reportedly brings home-baked treats over for Prince George and Prince Charlotte It’s not clear what treats she makes for the children, but her trick appears to have worked. Meghan, 37, has been photographed with Prince George and Princess Charlotte since her wedding day and it appears they’re big fans of the former actress. They were last seen together at Prince Louis’s christening in April.

While Meghan enjoys her duties as an aunt, rumours are swirling about when she’ll start a family with Prince Harry. Some reports suggest the pair are secretly expecting, but others say they’re not rushing it. Experts believe that fans will know when they’ve finally decided to have a child by how Meghan’s hair changes. The Duchess has said in the past that she’s a big fan of Brazilian keratin hair treatments, which aren’t advised for expectant mothers because it contains formaldehyde.  Does Meghan Markle have children? Meghan Markle does not have children. She has been married before but did not enter her relationship with Prince Harry with kids. The former Suits star has been open about her desire to have children one day but isn’t in a rush.

In 2016 she told Canada’s Best Health magazine that having children was on her ‘bucket list’. She added: ‘I want to travel more and I can’t wait to start a family, but in due time.’ Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, has echoed those sentiments. During a November interview with the BBC, he said of having kids: ‘Of course. You know, one step at a time. Hopefully, we’ll start a family in the near future.’ In April 2017, while speaking on The Telegraph’s Mad World podcast, the Duke of Sussex said he was ‘looking forward’ to becoming a father. ‘I would love to have kids,’ he added. Meghan Markle adoption Meghan Markle is rumoured to have been considering adoption.

The original report claimed Meghan and Prince Harry were planning to adopt a six-month-old baby from an orphanage in Botswana. Palace sources denied there was any truth to those claims. Since she married Prince Harry, stories have been cropping up left and right about Meghan Markle being pregnant with her first child. While she and the Prince haven’t addressed the rumours directly, Meghan has found subtle ways to shut down the drama.

Recently she took a swig of champagne during an event to prove that she’s not pregnant. She has also been wearing her usual form-fitting looks so there’s no need to speculate about a growing bump.

Local police were drafted in to make sure the royal couple were left undisturbed on their visit to the idyllic retreat on Lake Como, in Italy.  Clooney and human rights barrister wife Amal, 40, were among the stars at the couple’s May wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.  They joined the royal couple at their villa with 10-month-old twins Alexander and Ella.

Reports say Meghan enjoyed her time lazing by the swimming pool, and helping with nanny duties for the adorable twins, while Harry and George spent their time playing basketball with other friends. Around 15 guests are said to have attended the luxurious party – which went on until the early hours.

Rumours abound that Meghan will fly home to Toronto without Prince Harry to meet up with mum Doria Ragland.  Former Suits actress Meghan, 37, lived in Toronto before moving in with Harry and still has close friends living in the city. Kensington Palace sent a letter to Air Canada staff “asking that no one take Meghan’s picture or approach her on the flight”, reports Royal Central.

Meghan is also rumoured to be flying to Los Angeles in the coming weeks before returning to London for work in September.

It is not yet known whether Prince Harry will join his wife in Canada in the coming days. However, reports suggest that she might head stateside by herself to spend some time catching up with friends before Harry comes out to join her. Markle stayed in Toronto while she filmed legal drama Suits, and still has lots of friends who live in the city. Meghan and Harry have been inseparable since they wed in May.

A bigger American trip has been speculated for the couple, with a Us Weekly source saying: “Meghan is looking forward to introducing Harry to everything she loves about the US.” Both are said to have recently spent some downtime at Balmoral Castle with the Queen, enjoying long country walks and picnics with the family. The alleged trip to Canada comes as Meghan’s family continue to blast her publicly. Her uncle recently spoke of his deep hurt over his royal wedding “snub” and said he would have happily walked her down the aisle. Meghan’s half-sister Samantha has also boasted of an upcoming salacious biography titled In The Shadows Of The Duchess.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s dad revealed intimate details of conversations with Prince Harry, 33, and even confessed how he lied to the Duke of Sussex about faking pictures with a British paparazzi.

Kate Middleton always spotted with this unusual item when travelling

Kate Middleton always spotted with this unusual item when travelling

Kate Middleton, 36, is currently on maternity leave following the birth of her third child, Prince Louis who is currently three months old.

The Duchess of Cambridge travels frequently with Prince William, 36, to promote good relationships between countries on behalf of Queen Elizabeth. Kate has been spotted with a number of Globetrotter suitcases and bags that are also used by other Royal Family members. She also appears to travel with a particular medical item on her person. The Duchess of Cambridge is often caught wearing plasters on her hands when in public. What has caused the injuries remains unknown with some of the plasters spotted on the back of her hand and around her fingers. One of the cuts was presumed to be after meeting a cat that starred in A Street Cat Named Bob, which could have been caused by a scratch.

Buckingham Palace has never confirmed why her fingers are seen with plasters on them. It goes as far back as 2009 when Kate was spotted in a taxi with one around her finger. As a mother of three, she most likely carries many items such as plasters when looking after her children. Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 3, have both been spotted falling over before so would most likely need some help from their mother. The newest royal family member Meghan Markle will have to learn to call them plasters, not the American version of band-aids. While at an event in London with Prince Harry, he was heard joking to her that she would have to call them plasters in the UK. Meghan has a number of items she also travels with according to her ex-lifestyle blog The Tig. She carried hand sanitiser with her when travelling commercially to wipe the plane seats down, despite admitting to getting odd looks from her fellow passengers.

Meghan also admitted to taking the rather unusual time of dryer sheets with her. She explained that they help keep clothes smelling fresh when travelling long haul. Other items included tea tree oil and a scarf to stave off the cold on long-haul flights. She shut down her blog shortly before it was confirmed she was dating Prince Harry.
