The Time Wayne Rooney Tried Acting In The X-Men Film Trailer

The Time Wayne Rooney Tried Acting In The X-Men Film Trailer

Don’t get me wrong, Wayne Rooney will go down in history as one of the great Premier League strikers, but when it comes the big screen, the guy seriously can’t act – sorry, Wayne.

Manchester United teamed up with X-Men: Apocalypse to create a truly memorable commercial to promote the new movie and you guessed it, Rooney plays the starring role towards the end of the trailer.

In 2016, we quickly discovered that the former England international had absolutely no future in the film industry. Just incase you haven’t managed to stumble across this piece of genius, here’s the hilarious X-Men: Apocalypse trailer: Stand out lines include: “Anything for the team!”, “Hello Charles!” and “Bloody hell!” as well as the standard try and look serious face.

Unfortunately for the former United striker, he did not receive any BAFTA nominations for this performance in particular, which in my eyes is an absolute disgrace considering the talent on show.

This isn’t the only trailer Manchester United have released in years gone by. Oh no. More recently, the club announced a partnership with ICICI Bank in India, a decision that has brought us one of the most bizarre commercials you’ll ever watch. The club’s relationship with ICICI, who have been labelled as one of India’s most reputable banking groups by Manchester United Group’s managing director Richard Arnold, means that supporters will be offered co-branded credit and debit cards. Let’s dive straight into this advert, which caused quite a stir on social media after its release. From the extreme dabbing in 2018 to those incredible Manchester United socks, we might have watched the above three times in the past hour.

Here’s how United’s managing director Richard Arnold described the partnership: “The club has enjoyed numerous visits to India over the past few seasons, with our #ILOVEUNITED fan event held in Mumbai in January, attracting almost 5,000 fans to the live match screening.” he said.

Jose Mourinho comes up smiling as Manchester United beat Burnley

Jose Mourinho comes up smiling as Manchester United beat Burnley

Jose Mourinho is the bookmakers’ favourite to be the first Premier League manager to leave this seasonAfter a week of turmoil and questions, this was Jose Mourinho’s day. Two first-half goals from Romelu Lukaku were enough for 10-man Manchester United to beat Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor, avoid a third successive Premier League defeat and quell the intense speculation that had been building around Mourinho’s future after two years as manager. “I am delighted with the result,” he said in his post-match media conference. “But I think some of you must be disappointed. [For you] it would be much better if we lose.” He was adamant it was about the team and not him, because “the manager does not play”. But from the moment 20 minutes before kick-off when a plane flew over Turf Moor, trailing a banner reading ‘Ed Woodward – a specialist in failure!’, until 20 minutes after the full-time whistle when he won a jocular argument with his media officer about which of two questions he should answer in his news conference, this was Mourinho’s day. The banner was flown over Burnley’s ground about 20 minutes before the match kicked off

The Portuguese said it had not been “a sad week” at United following Monday’s 3-0 home defeat by Tottenham. He also said he had not read the newspapers. Mourinho would also have needed to avoid the radio and TV to miss the discussion about his future, fuelled, in part, by his relationship with United’s executive vice-chairman Woodward. Expressly against Mourinho’s own wishes, moves to sell France forward Anthony Martial and buy an additional central defender were blocked before the transfer window closed on 9 August. Such is Woodward’s close relationship with the Glazer family, who own United, Mourinho cannot win an internal power battle. However, he has a few allies, not least a secretive fans’ group ‘A Voice from the Terrace’ who paid for the plane and the banner which criticised what they view as five years of bad decisions by Woodward, who effectively replaced David Gill as chief executive in 2013. In the absence of a director of football, they hold Woodward responsible for Mourinho not getting his way this summer. Asked about the banner, which flew as his team were warming up and he was in the tunnel, Mourinho said: “I didn’t see planes. I am not looking to the sky unless I am asking the guy for help. “Ed Woodward won this afternoon. Ed Woodward won 2-0.” The fans are on Jose’s side too Jose Mourinho acknowledged the support from the fansThe 2,433 United fans at Turf Moor first sang Mourinho’s name as the teams warmed up. They repeated it as their 55-year-old manager walked out of the tunnel in the corner of the stadium and across the field to the visitors’ dugout. Thereafter, barely five minutes went by without Mourinho hearing his name being chanted. Occasionally, he responded with a wave. Sometimes he was too engrossed in the game to notice. But at the end, he walked straight to his left, directly to those same fans, right up to the very edge of the seats they had spent the previous two hours not sitting on and started applauding. As he walked down the length of the away support he kept applauding. It took him about as long as he spent standing in front of the Stretford End on Monday after the 3-0 loss to Tottenham and cost him a coat, which was handed to one lucky fan. Ultimately, supporters do not decide the fate of managers. But they can certainly make it hard to remove them. Mourinho said: “I feel a bit sorry we didn’t score a couple of goals in front of them because it would be magic.” Rashford is a naive boy – Mourinho

And finally, Mourinho was asked two questions at the same time. He wanted to answer one about starting midfielder Marouane Fellaini, but his press officer signalled him to deal with the other one instead. “You are killing me,” he laughed. “It is the only question anyone is going to ask where I can say ‘it was my decision’.” The media officer relented and when Mourinho had finished eulogising over the Belgian, he went back to the question she wanted to take from an Italian journalist who, it transpired, wanted to talk about United’s Champions League opponents Juventus. “After Liverpool they have probably spent more than anyone this summer,” he said. Asked whether he had considered bringing Juve’s Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford this summer once it became obvious he would be leaving Real Madrid, Mourinho thought about whether he should answer for a moment, before eventually settling on this: “Cristiano was never on my table to say yes or no to come to us.” In this instance, Woodward was not mentioned.

Zinedine Zidane Real Madrid Training

We’ll Never Get Tired Of Zinedine Zidane’s Lay-Offs In Real Madrid Training

Being a Real Madrid player has a lot of perks and one of the best parts of being contracted to Los Blancos while Zinedine Zidane was in charge was the fact that you have one of the all-time greats running and partaking in training. Zidane forged an incredible career at the highest level, winning league titles with Juventus and Real Madrid, firing France to the 1998 World Cup on home soil and scoring THAT volley in the 2002 Champions League final triumph over Bayer Leverkusen.

Zidane the, as a manager, won an unprecedented three Champions League titles in a row before taking a break from management. Evidently, the Frenchman never lost his supreme technical ability and enjoyed getting involved in training and showing he’s still very much got it. Isco’s face says it all. There are a few other clips of his glorious lay-offs so feast your eyes on these, too. He supplied a sumptuous assist for Luka Modric in Real training ahead of the Champions League final, with the Croatian walloping in a volley his boss would have proud of. And in another clip, Modric’s compatriot Mateo Kovacic, now at Chelsea, produced a stunning effort after being laid off by Zidane.

At the moment, it looks like Manchester United could be his most likely destination if things don’t improve dramatically for Jose Mourinho…

Jose Mourinho Storms Out Of Post-Match Press Conference After Spurs Defeat

Jose Mourinho Storms Out Of Post-Match Press Conference After Spurs Defeat

Jose Mourinho’s stormed out of his press conference after his side were beaten 3-0 by Spurs at Old Trafford.

A brilliant header from Harry Kane just after halftime and a superb double from Lucas Moura means United are experiencing their worst start to a season in 26 years, while it was also the worst ever home defeat in Jose Mourinho’s managerial career. Following more defensive calamities, many were surprised when Mourinho was anything but prickly in his post-match interview. But his press conference was a different story. It ended rather quickly and comprised of Mourinho doing the 3-0 gesture with his hand and then reminding a journalist that he was won the same amount of Premier League titles – more than the other 19 managers combined. After demanding respect, the Portuguese was escorted out of the room. And that was that.

Jose Mourinho reveals reason behind Manchester United’s slow start to the season

Jose Mourinho reveals reason behind Manchester United’s slow start to the season

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said his players need more time to settle into the season after the World Cup.

United’s preparations for the new campaign were hampered by the summer tournament, with many of Mourinho’s players missing the entirety of the Reds’ pre-season tour of the United States as a result of their involvement in Russia. Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard were among the players to miss United’s entire pre-season schedule and Mourinho believes his players will need extra time to bed into the new campaign as a result. “When you have a good week when you train really well, things are positive, you expect good individual performances. You don’t expect mistakes and you expect a good result, not a defeat,” Mourinho said, reflecting on last weekend’s defeat by Brighton.

“Normally when you lose you want to play immediately and two days after that was not the case. But I am happy that was not the case because at this moment we need some time.

“We need players to be back, we need players to train more to have a kind of pre-season after the pre-season that they didn’t have after the World Cup.” United welcome Spurs to Old Trafford tonight and Mourinho knows how much of a threat Mauricio Pochettino’s side will pose, despite United’s good record against the north Londoners last term. “It is a big game against a good opponent, an opponent that last season, in all the three matches we played, they were difficult matches in spite of [the fact] we won two of them,” Mourinho said.

“It [the FA Cup semi-final] was a good performance, away from home where everybody was expecting us to lose the match. We didn’t start well and conceded an early goal and after that we had the quality and the mentality to change the result, to be dominant in the second half and it was a really good performance. “We know what a good team they are and we know that they come here with their objectives. Big match but no need to work much on the motivational level because we have a natural motivation to play against the good teams.”

‘All Or Nothing: Manchester City’ Reveals Heated Exchange After 3-2 Defeat To Man United

The new Amazon documentary ‘All or Nothing: Manchester City’ reveals the heated exchange between players following their 3-2 defeat to Manchester United, last season.

City had the chance to claim the Premier League title against their cross-town rivals United in April. Though raising silverware was postponed following defeat to Jose Mourinho’s side. That’s despite racing to a two-goal lead. United came from two-down to eventually secure a dramatic victory, delaying the inevitable as City eventually held aloft the Premier League trophy. And through City’s gripping documentary which chronicles their 2017/18 campaign, footage has surfaced of the dressing room exchange. Transcript below via Give Me Sport: Delph: “F****** shit man, f**** sake. F****** useless. F*** me. F****** hell.”

Kompany: “If I wanna see this team go to the next level, and do even more, every single detail we need to be honest with ourselves and be hard with ourselves.” Toure: “I think the point of what I’m saying right now is that it’s true because in the first half we were there, but in the second half they took us physically. “Because, I think we have to understand sometimes, because we’re fatigued and that’s the time we need to regroup.” Delph: “‘F****** tired? It’s simple, it’s straightforward. We stopped f****** running in the second half.” Guardiola: “When you lose in football, you think, we didn’t run. That is b*******, guys. That is not the point.” Image: Amazon/Manchester City Delph: “I’m not blaming anyone, it’s just the basics of football. When things go against us and everybody drops their head, just remember the basics. “Winning our individual battles, sticking together as a unit, f****** defenders defending, midfielders box to box, f****** keepers… just the basics of football.”

Guardiola: “Football is not flowers, a good holiday and say everything is easy. “Football is so complicated at the high level guys. We tried to build something good and you did do good. “You have to make the last level guys, everyone together. That is the moment the real man’s, the real football players, the real professionals step up and say ‘I’m here.'” If you haven’t yet watched an episode, you need to – it’s brilliant viewing.

Manchester United Win against Leicester at Old Trafford

Manchester United vs Leicester live updates from Old Trafford

Paul Pogba has fired Manchester United into the lead against Leicester. The French, World Cup winner put his penalty into the top corner and above Kasper Schmeichel to give Jose Mourinho’s men the perfect start to the new Premier League season.

Pogba is captaining United following his heroics in Russia this summer, with Mourinho claiming he will keep that position until Antonio Valencia returns to take the armband back.

Claude Puel Brilliantly Trolled Manchester United Over Harry Maguire Transfer

Claude Puel Brilliantly Trolled Manchester United Over Harry Maguire Transfer

Jose Mourinho was likely sat in his hotel room, ordering room service and shouting obscenities at Sky Sports news as Transfer Deadline Day quickly came and went and his mood wouldn’t have been helped by Claude Puel trolling him. Let’s be honest Mourinho isn’t exactly a man who you would instantly connect with having a sunny disposition but with the Manchester United manager desperation to sign a defender may have left him feeling even further in the dumps than usual. Despite signing Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant it hasn’t exactly been a good transfer window for United and the Red Devils found their hands trapped as the window was slammed shut on them.

They tried for the past week to sign a centre-back, arguably not what they needed but what they wanted, with Toby Alderweireld, Yerry Mina and Diego Godin amongst the men they reportedly bid for. Of course missing from that list is ‘ol’ Slaphead himself Harry Maguire. The Leicester City defender was reportedly a £65 million target for the Old Trafford club but the Foxes wouldn’t sell. There was still hope that he would sign, despite the fact the two clubs play on Friday evening, and manager Claude Puel used this fact to troll United and journalists in his press conference:

You can only imagine that Mourinho’s face would have dropped on hearing that and he might have thrown another dart at the picture of Ed Woodward stuck up on the wall of his hotel room.

There was a further embarrassment for United when it came to Godin with reports that the Uruguayan’s agent rang the Premier League club to tell them of his clients interest just so they’d bid and he could then get his client more money. Oh dear Jose, at least you can get your smile back tomorrow against Leicester. The Maguire winner is inevitable isn’t it… Ryan Sidle Ryan is a writer for SPORTbible. Breaking News: Paul Pogba Demands Manchester United Exit After Agreeing Contract With Barcelona

Paul Pogba Demands Manchester United Exit After Agreeing Contract With Barcelona

The 25-year-old has grown unhappy with life at Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail, and now wants to move to Spain to play for La Liga giants Barca. Paul Pogba has told Manchester United he wants to leave for Barcelona. And now the board have a decision to make. The manager who looks like he wants out vs a player who wants out because of the manager.

Pogba had a meeting yesterday evening in London with Mino Raiola (not in Manchester). The player told to him that he wants to leave or he won’t play for United. The situation is limit and his only desire is to play in Barcelona. The problem is his replacement.

Pogba re-joined the Red Devils from Juventus for a then world record £89million deal but has told the club in the past 48 hours that he wishes to leave. Reportedly, the midfielder has text executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward informing him of his desperation to leave this summer transfer window – though the club has denied this. It’s thought that Pogba has already agreed on terms with Barcelona on a deal worth £89.5m over a course of five years. He will be paid £346,000 a week, but his agent Mino Raiola has denied commenting on the situation. Despite this, manager Jose Mourinho is eager to keep hold of his man.

The World Cup star said earlier this summer via the Independent: “I am not the coach. You will have to see with him. He made his choices,” stated Pogba, in quotes translated by several UK newspapers. “Have I had talks with him? Not necessarily. He took me off, like that. Like I said, I do my job he does his. I am in Manchester, I have my contract here for now. All the rest is just words. That’s it. I am concentrating on the World Cup. ”

There is the team, the coach has to make his choices. If he thinks he has to put me on the bench because I was not good or he prefers to change the system, it is his choice. This year, I have been on the bench. Pogba has just helped his national side France win the World Cup, in a tournament in which he was one of the standout performers. It’s a huge difference from his time with Man United, where his form has been fleeting, at some points showing off his unbelievable talent, while other times, his head drops and his play becomes lethargic.

Barcelona’s stunning £100M contract offer to Paul Pogba revealed

Barcelona’s stunning contract offer to Paul Pogba revealed

Barcelona have reportedly agreed terms with Paul Pogba as they step up their bid to land the Manchester United star.

The La Liga champions have had an offer of £45million plus Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes rejected. But according to reports in Italy, the player has already agreed to terms with Barcelona. Should United eventually accept an offer, Pogba would earn €100m (£100m) over five years at the Nou Camp.

Although the Premier League transfer window closes on Thursday afternoon, Barcelona will have until the end of the month to sign Pogba. The World Cup winning midfielder returned to United in 2016 following a spell in Italy with Juventus. Paul Pogba could leave Manchester United this summer. But he has struggled to settle under Jose Mourinho with his displays for France this summer simply highlighting his ineffectiveness for his club last season. United are interested in signing Mina as they look to reinforce their defensive options but are also considering offers for Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld and Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng. Everton and Lyon are also chasing Mina who is expected to leave Barcelona despite only joining in January. Gomes is another who has been told he can leave the Nou Camp during this window. United are interested in Barcelona’s Yerry Mina. Furthermore, a report in Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo suggests Ousmane Dembele and Ivan Rakitic could also be offered in exchange for Pogba. Although Barca is reluctant to sell either player, they are desperate to land Pogba. But they are expected to have a difficult time convincing either the Croatian or the Frenchman to move to the Premier League. Should Manchester United sell Paul Pogba to Barcelona?
