Ruby Rose has inked a deal to play Batwoman in an Arrowverse crossover event in December, and she may even get to play the role in a new series for The CW which is in development.
The actress will make an appearance as one of DC’s most famous female superheroes in the annual crossover event, which sees all the characters in the Arrowverse coming together to fight a villain more monstrous than ever before. And in this December’s crossover, it looks as though Batwoman will be making an appearance alongside the Green Arrow, The Flash, the Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, who are just some of the superheroes who will take part. If Batwoman does go to series, this will be the first gay lead character of a live-action superhero series, as Batwoman herself was the first ever lesbian superhero of the title DC characters. Of course, Batwoman wouldn’t be the first LGBT character in the Arrowverse, with Caity Lotz’s Sara Lance taking that mantle as a bisexual character and Legend of Tomorrow member.
