‘GOAL’ Voted The Greatest Football Film Of All Time

Santiago Munez’s journey to stardom is like no other. The lad went from working in a Chinese restaurant after his father smuggled his penniless Mexican family over the US border to seek a better life in L.A, to playing in front of thousands at St James park with that really annoying bloke, Gavin Harris.

For many of us reading this, the fictional tale of this talented Mexican is up there with the very best. In fact, to put the public’s adoration for the film into perspective, GOAL has been voted the greatest football-related film of all time by fans and we couldn’t be happier. There was over 28,000 votes cast to decide the eventual winner, with the likes of Bend It Like Beckham, Green Street, The Football Factory and Mike Bassett: England Manager in the running for the coveted prize. GOAL came out on top with 6,136 votes, while GOAL 2 and Green Street made up the top three. Lovers of the film Mean Machine and Escape To Victory might be disappointing to learn that they fall into the bottom three alongside Fever Pitch.

Here are the results in full:

1) GOAL – 6136 votes

2) GOAL 2 – 5488 votes

3) Green Street – 2887 votes

Neil Young and Daryl Hannah reportedly marry in California

The singer-songwriter Neil Young and actor Daryl Hannah are said to have married during a small ceremony in California at the weekend. The couple reportedly wed on Saturday in Atascadero, after a ceremony on Young’s yacht near the San Juan islands. The guitarist Mark Miller appeared to confirm the news on Facebook when he congratulated the couple. He later clarified that he had not attended the ceremony. “I only knew about it because one of my friends attended the ceremony in Atascadero and announced it on his page,” Miller said.

The administrator of Young’s blog also congratulated the pair, and referred to comments from attendees, who described the event as “a shindig”. Hannah posted a cryptic image to her Instagram account the following day. She captioned the picture of an owl: “Someone’s watching over us … love and only love.” Young and Hannah had reportedly been dating since 2014, when Young filed for divorce from Pegi Young, his wife of 36 years. On the media scrutiny surrounding his relationship with Hannah, Young said: “We didn’t pay any attention to that. It doesn’t matter. We don’t give a shit. We don’t care, because they don’t know what they’re talking about. And if they do know what they’re talking about, we still don’t care, but we’re happy for them. It doesn’t matter. What matters is us, not the press.”

This year, Young appeared in the Netflix film Paradox, a fantasy western musical directed by Hannah. At 72, it marks another chapter in Young’s life and work, as he continues to press on with new music. He has released six albums in the last four years, including two with a new backing band, Promise of the Real, who feature Willie Nelson’s son Lukas among their number. Long irritated by what he perceives as low quality digital music from Apple, Spotify and others, he has also recently created an ambitious online archive of his work in high-resolution audio. In December 2017, he sold off 418 lots of his possessions at auction, raising over $300,000 from his model train collection alone.

Hannah continues to act – her most high profile recent role was Angelica Turing in the sci-fi Netflix series Sense8, a show whose cult popularity was so strong that fans successfully lobbied for a final “goodbye” episode after it was cancelled, which aired in June this year. But she is also a high-profile activist, having long campaigned against the Keystone oil pipeline system in Canada and the US. She has been arrested numerous times for her protests – including twice in front of the White House – and she and Young led a Washington-based march together in 2014.

Holly Willoughby confirmed as new I’m a Celebrity host

Holly Willoughby net worth revealed as This Morning star is confirmed as new I’m a Celebrity host

Holly Willoughby has been confirmed as Ant McPartlin’s replacement on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and will join Declan Donnelly to host the ITV show as one half of the iconic duo takes a break from television. Dec is thought to have suggested that Holly would be the perfect host after Ant pulled out of all television commitments, in addition to the 2019 series of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway already being axed, as reported by Daily Mirror. ‘Holly is 100 per cent confirmed to be going into the Jungle this year as Ant’s stand in,’ the source revealed and continued to say: ‘It’s been in the works for weeks as ITV were really keen on getting her in. They’ve taken their time announcing it as they wanted to be sure Holly could fit it in with her family and other work commitments.’ After this announcement, other sources told The Sun that discussions about her new role are at an ‘advanced stage’ and was given Ant’s blessing to join the next series of I’m A Celebrity.

But who is Holly Willoughby? Known as the golden girl of television, it seems as if Holly Willoughby has either presented or appeared on most shows that are on television right now and was even occasionally on our screens nearly every day of the week with her on-screen husband Phillip Schofield, hosting This Morning and Dancing on Ice. Born Holly Marie Willoughby in Brighton on February 10, 1981 to an air stewardess and double glazing company owner, she was first spotted by a model scout at The Clothes Show Live in 1995 at the age of 14, as reported by Closer Online. She was signed by Storm Model Management and modelled for magazines More!, Mizz and Just Seventeen and years later, modelled underwear for brands such as Pretty Polly.

It was also revealed at the end of last year that Holly and Dan made a staggering £1 million from their company Roxy Media; Holly owns 80 per cent of the shares and earned £760,000 and Dan, with 20 per cent, £190,000.

Spice Girls 2019 reunion tour ‘CONFIRMED’ – But which Spice is missing?

Spice Girls 2019 reunion tour ‘CONFIRMED’ – But which Spice is missing?

A source revealed that former manager Simon Fuller is helming the reunion and each member of the band is expected to make £12 million assuming its a sellout. The insider said: “After much to’ing and fro’ing, a deal has been signed, and an official announcement will be made soon.” They added: “The girls can’t wait to go back on tour, perform to the fans and sing some of their greatest hits.”

However, Posh Spice herself will be the only member of the group not joining the tour. While a reason hasn’t be given, Fuller revealed two years ago that Victoria Beckham “always felt uncomfortable” being in the Spice Girls. Speaking with Global News, he said: “Victoria, coming out of the Spice Girls, being married to David Beckham, launched a solo career.” Fuller added: “She never felt comfortable.  “Even in the Spice Girls – it was great fun, she was in the world’s biggest group for two or three years – but she didn’t feel comfortable.”

The Spice Girls originally split in 2000 before reuniting for a world tour from 2007-2008. The last time they performed live with all five member was at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.

Game of Thrones season 8 release ‘delayed’ – as effects producer reveals likely date

Game of Thrones season 8 release ‘delayed’ – as effects producer reveals likely date

Game Of Thrones fans will need to have even more patience as the final season looks to have been ‘delayed’. They’ve already had to go a whole year without a new episode, but the wait is set to be even longer. It doesn’t appear that Winter is coming anytime soon as visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer revealed Season 8 could be pushed back. He confessed that the hit Belfast-filmed show will be eligible for the 2020 Emmy Awards, which suggests that they will miss the May 31 cut-off date for the 2019 ceremony. This means that it’s likely that the release date of Season 8 is being pushed back until June or possibly even July next year. Winter is not coming for a long time.

Bauer said, “In two years we’ll be eligible for the Season 8 work. “We’re going to be toiling away on season 8 until May of 2019, so it’s eight or nine months away.” The visual effects supervisor confirmed that he would not be working on anything else but Thrones until May next year. He added: “But the prequel is starting to shoot in February, at least the pilot. So we’ll still have quite a lot to do on Season 8 when they’re beginning.” It’s bad news for fans of the hit fantasy series, who could be made to wait over two years since Season 7 aired for another does of Westeros action. Will we ever find out who will sit on the Iron Throne? While the Emmys sometimes make exceptions, it seems the release date of the premiere will be in June at the earliest.

Celebrity Big Brother 2018 eviction: Who will be evicted next?

Celebrity Big Brother 2018 eviction: Who will be evicted next?

Celebrity Big Brother host Emma Willis revealed on Friday that another eviction is to take place this Tuesday (August 28).

So far, it is not known who is up for nomination, or if the eviction will go ahead after Rodrigo Alves’ shock removal from the house on Saturday. Even if the eviction does not go ahead, however, some housemates’ days in the house could be numbered. Here’s who the bookies think will be evicted next. Who will be evicted next from Celebrity Big Brother 2018?

Sally gave this reason for her nomination – It was another bodily function which got Hardeep in trouble sadly, as he was nominated for something few of us can claim not to be victim of ourselves. Farting. That’s right, housemates voted Hardeep because he publicly and openly farts in the house, which many of them deem to be totally inappropriate. Chloe, Kirstie Alley and Psychic Sally Morgan were just three of the housemates who cited this as one of their main reasons for outing the comedian, with snoring coming in alongside these reasons. Hardeep got a lot of nominations – but not as many as Chloe.

Also receiving nominations tonight were Roxanne Pallett, who receive four, Ryan Thomas with three, and Nick Leeson received two votes. Celebrity Big Brother continues at 9pm on Channel 5.

Most of the bookies are in agreement that Hardeep Singh Kohli will be the next housemate to face eviction. Betfair and PaddyPower are offering odds of 6/4 that the presenter and comedian will be next to go. He is also the most likely to go according to Ladbrokes, though they are offering slightly longer odds at 7/4.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The housemates haven’t exactly taken a liking to Hardeep so it’s no surprise to see him head the eviction market.” However, he added that two other housemates could also be speaking to Emma on Friday night. He said: “Jermaine Pennant and Chloe Ayling’s relationship has done little to strengthen either’s chance of avoiding the boot.”

Unsurprisingly, Ryan and Kirstie are currently the bookies’ favourites to win this year’s edition of Celebrity Big Brother. According to Oddschecker, Kirstie is currently the favourite to win at 13/8, with Ryan at 2/1, though the two have been neck-and-neck for most of the past week. Ryan was the favourite before the contestants went in, while Kirstie has seen her odds shorten from 12/1. Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5

Pictures emerge of Liam Gallagher ‘grabbing’ girlfriend as pair insist it’s all a ‘pack of lies’

Photos of the moment Liam Gallagher appeared to grab girlfriend Debbie Gwyther have emerged. Images from CCTV footage from the incident at the Chiltern Firehouse, it has been claimed, appear to show Liam Gallagher turning back to try and take hold of girlfriend Debbie before she throws her head back to escape his grasp. The CCTV footage begins with the pair coming through a doorway before Debbie stumbles from Liam. The singer moves past his girlfriend and walks ahead, before suddenly turning around and appearing to reach back at Debbie – who turns away.

The former Oasis singer then walks off down the corridor while Debbie appears to hide in an alcove.

A passing waiter spots her and pauses to talk to her Debbie for a brief moment, before walking off while looking back. However, both Debbie and the Oasis frontman have called the story of him hurting her a ‘pack of lies’, with the 45-year-old asserting he’d never lay a finger on a woman.

Debbie said: ‘It feels like they’re on a witch hunt to dirty Liam’s name. Our relationship is stronger than ever. Liam’s never laid a hand on me. It is completely ridiculous.’ The pair insist it’s all a ‘pack of lies’ Liam also denied the altercation on Twitter, writing: ‘Firstly I have never put my hands on any woman in a vicious manner. Secondly, there is only 1 witch and we all know who that is.. as you were LG x’.

The incident took place at the famous Marylebone venue where the pair had gone after eating at Scott’s restaurant in Mayfair; they reportedly enjoyed several beers together. Since the incident, Liam has returned to the stage, performing in Paris at the Rock En Seine festival.

Love Island’s Ellie responds to claims that her relationship with Charlie is over

Love Island’s Ellie responds to claims that her relationship with Charlie is over

She’s not impressed. It appears as though Love Island’s Ellie Brown and Charlie Brake are in headlines again and again with constant reports that the pair are “on the rocks” or have parted ways. From Ellie seen leaving the club alone “visibly distraught” Friday night to earlier reports that Charlie called an end to things before then “staging” a fake photoshoot to make them look like they’re still together, it certainly is hard to keep up with duo post-villa.

And it looks like Ellie is finding it difficult too, taking to Twitter last night after days of speculation that things were over, she finally quashed rumours by sharing an array of images alongside the 23-year-old millionaire with the caption: “Let whoever think whatever, just keep getting better  @Charlie_Brake love you.”

Charlie then responded with a heart emoji, too giving a nod to the tweet. But it looks like Ellie and Charlie aren’t the only ones finding the rumours and online trolls difficult. At the weekend, Zara McDermott opened up about how Love Island has shattered her self-esteem. Speaking about the onslaught of comments she has received about her body and looks since leaving the show, she admitted to “breaking down crying” and finding it all overwhelming at times. You can read all about that here.

Hailey Baldwin Flaunts Her Ridiculously Expensive Engagement Ring From Justin Bieber On The Cover Of Vogue

Let’s be honest, Justin Bieber was never going to skimp on the engagement ring he selected for Hailey Baldwin.

But the model has now shown off just how mesmerising it is on her latest cover for Vogue Mexico’s September issue, with the expensive oval-shaped diamond on full display. Vogue Mexico JEAL. OUS. How expensive are we talking? Oh, only a casual $250k.

Hailey is the epitome of a natural beauty in the artsy black and white shoot, with her head resting on her left arm, perfectly positioned to show off the stunning sparkler. Photographer Bjorn Iooss snapped the beauty for the Mexican mag, with shots taken for inside the magazine looking equally unreal. Justin Bieber previously opened up about the engagement ring he chose for his wife-to-be, which he purchased from Solow & Co in NYC. In fact, he said he was completely drawn to it and even saw her face in the diamond. Wowzers. And it looks like Justin is sparing no expense when it comes to his woman, as he recently is reported to have splurged $5 million on a Canadian mansion for them.
