Breaking News: Paul Pogba Demands Manchester United Exit After Agreeing Contract With Barcelona

Paul Pogba Demands Manchester United Exit After Agreeing Contract With Barcelona

The 25-year-old has grown unhappy with life at Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail, and now wants to move to Spain to play for La Liga giants Barca. Paul Pogba has told Manchester United he wants to leave for Barcelona. And now the board have a decision to make. The manager who looks like he wants out vs a player who wants out because of the manager.

Pogba had a meeting yesterday evening in London with Mino Raiola (not in Manchester). The player told to him that he wants to leave or he won’t play for United. The situation is limit and his only desire is to play in Barcelona. The problem is his replacement.

Pogba re-joined the Red Devils from Juventus for a then world record £89million deal but has told the club in the past 48 hours that he wishes to leave. Reportedly, the midfielder has text executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward informing him of his desperation to leave this summer transfer window – though the club has denied this. It’s thought that Pogba has already agreed on terms with Barcelona on a deal worth £89.5m over a course of five years. He will be paid £346,000 a week, but his agent Mino Raiola has denied commenting on the situation. Despite this, manager Jose Mourinho is eager to keep hold of his man.

The World Cup star said earlier this summer via the Independent: “I am not the coach. You will have to see with him. He made his choices,” stated Pogba, in quotes translated by several UK newspapers. “Have I had talks with him? Not necessarily. He took me off, like that. Like I said, I do my job he does his. I am in Manchester, I have my contract here for now. All the rest is just words. That’s it. I am concentrating on the World Cup. ”

There is the team, the coach has to make his choices. If he thinks he has to put me on the bench because I was not good or he prefers to change the system, it is his choice. This year, I have been on the bench. Pogba has just helped his national side France win the World Cup, in a tournament in which he was one of the standout performers. It’s a huge difference from his time with Man United, where his form has been fleeting, at some points showing off his unbelievable talent, while other times, his head drops and his play becomes lethargic.

Marcus Rashford Handed Number 10 Shirt For Manchester United

Marcus Rashford Handed Number 10 Shirt For Manchester United

As a vote of confidence, the youngster has been handed a new shirt. Our own Marcus Rashford with the number 10 shirt. Big moment for him and a big statement from the club.

It’s a long way from where manager Jose Mourinho had Rashford last season, when he made these comments after a poor performance. “It was not good enough,” said Mourinho. “The players who replaced others did not perform at a good level and, when individuals do that, it is difficult for the team to play well. Mourinho “Maybe now you will not ask me why A, B and C do not play so much. People always ask: ‘Why always Lukaku?’

Well, now they know why always Lukaku, and why always this player and why always that player. We are probably not as good as people think we are individually. “I knew what was going to happen, and I told them, but that is what we got. Brighton had one target, to get the point and celebrate their Premier League survival. “Our target was to get points to help us finish second and they clearly showed that, for them, it is more important for them to stay in the Premier League than for us to finish second. They showed it from the first minute and we didn’t show that. We were not able to motivate ourselves.” Does Rashford deserve the number let us know?

What Arturo Vidal Said About Lionel Messi Resurfaces Ahead Of Barcelona Transfer

What Arturo Vidal Said About Lionel Messi Resurfaces Ahead Of Barcelona Transfer

Ahead of the pair of South Americans linking up, we remember what the robust midfielder said about Messi. Vidal has been subject to intense transfer speculation with a host of clubs eyeing him up. Manchester United and Manchester City as well as Inter Milan, to name but a few, were heavily linked with his services. However, in the eleventh hour, Barcelona have entered the race and are on the verge of snapping him up for a reported £26.7 million.

He’ll reportedly join Barcelona’s squad, making him club colleagues with Messi. Image: PA Image: PA Vidal and Messi have plenty of history with the pair locking horns on the international stage, most notably in the Copa America finals where Chile beat Argentina. And just a few weeks ago, Vidal was asked whether he feared Messi. “Do I fear him or does he fear me? I don’t fear him, but you have to ask him if he was left with fear,” he said via ESPN. Vidal added: “I’ve beaten him in all the finals — and if we were to meet again, we [Chile] would win again. “I don’t fear anything — on the pitch we are all equal. I defend my jersey and my national team to the death. If I can, I give it all on the pitch. “The Argentinians dream about me! It was joyful to win a Copa America. For Chileans, it’s not easy to reach a final and win it, more so against the Argentinians. But we got two Copas and that will always be there.” Interesting. How will the situation pan out between Vidal and Messi?

England v India: ‘Breathless Edgbaston proves Tests are still the best’

England v India: ‘Breathless Edgbaston proves Tests are still the best’

England’s 1,000th Test produced a match befitting the occasion. The home side’s 31-run win over India, completed at the end of a very special hour and a half on a sunny Saturday in Birmingham, left everyone breathless. It was so typical of Edgbaston, a ground that time and again produces these great finishes with the crowd so heavily involved. Recently, we have seen many one-sided Tests, where one team gets on top and steamrolls to victory, with the opposition unable to mount any sort of resistance. This first Test was not like that at all. It ebbed and flowed. Both teams were only ever a 50-run partnership or a couple of wickets away from being on top. When England were 216-3 on the first day, then again when India were 100-5 on the second, Joe Root’s men had the opportunity to nail it down. Then, only 24 hours before the match ended, I was on the outfield with Root, Alastair Cook and James Anderson as part of the 1,000th Test celebrations. They had long faces because they thought they were going to lose. That the game swung this way was because of individual displays, mistakes and the conditions. Performances like Virat Kohli’s batting in both innings, Sam Curran’s counter-attack on the third afternoon and Ben Stokes’ spell on the fourth and final morning. Deficiencies from batsmen on both sides against the moving ball and a number of dropped catches. A pitch that showed the folly of playing Test cricket on rolled-out concrete where batsmen pile on the runs. This match has proved that help for the bowlers makes for exciting contests. You cannot control if a ball will swing or not, but you can offer seam movement or turn, just enough so a batsman never feels in. Time and again we see that the most compelling Tests are the ones where bowlers are given encouragement. England’s greatest Test Which match was voted the best?

There will be comparisons drawn with the Ashes Test of 2005 on this ground. It was nice to hear someone like Curran talk about how that game had an influence on him. He would have only been seven years old at the time. Now, matches like this, finishing with Stokes being roared on by the Hollies Stand, will inspire the next generation. In the short term, after Stokes bowled so well across the entire match, we are left to wonder how England will cope without him for the second at Lord’s, which starts on Thursday. His affray trial begins on Monday, but he allayed any worries he might be distracted with his performance this week. Stokes is a fantastic competitor and he used this as a reminder of what a fine all-round cricketer he really is. ‘That is the moment!’ – Stokes traps Kohli lbwWhile replacing Stokes will be a headache for Root, the England skipper can at least be pleased with his own leadership during that final session. I spoke before the series of how Root is still to stamp his authority on the captaincy, but everything went right for him on Saturday morning. The decision to bring the leg-spin of Adil Rashid into the attack might have looked obvious from a distance, but it is different when you are the captain and you know someone like Hardik Pandya could take him to the cleaners. Instead, Rashid did what he was supposed to do and pinned Ishant Sharma with a googly. Root kept faith with Dawid Malan at second slip, despite the Middlesex player’s drops in this match. Malan repaid him with a smart catch off Anderson. England’s tactic of starving Kohli of the strike also worked. The India skipper was denied the chance of a flying start. Root’s confidence in his own captaincy should now go up a notch or two. Speaking of Kohli, it is now his job to revive an India team that rolled over here four years ago. Kohli played so beautifully in this match, but he told me after the game that making his first century in England was secondary to the result. Virat Kohli scored a century and a fifty in the same Test for the seventh time, equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s India record.

India move on to Lord’s, where it is likely to be dry, suiting the tourists. If, as we expect, they include a second spinner, will it be the mystery of left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav? You feel India have to win in London. If they find themselves 2-0 down heading to Trent Bridge, where we will probably find more traditional English conditions, it’s a long way back. As we leave Edgbaston, Kohli will be one of the memories that I take with me. His ‘mic drop’ celebration, Curran’s six to bring up his half-century, the tension of the wickets falling on the final morning. Who says Tests cannot be the future of cricket? When it is like what we have seen in Birmingham, it is brilliant. When you watch, enjoy and appreciate, it is still the best version of the game.

European Championships 2018: Adam Peaty breaks 100m breaststroke world record

Great Britain’s Adam Peaty broke his own 100m breaststroke world record to retain his European title in Glasgow. The 23-year-old Olympic and world champion finished in 57.00 seconds – 0.13secs quicker than his previous best time – as team-mate James Wilby grabbed silver following a late surge. Peaty took a huge lead on the first 50m before pulling away further to win by 1.54secs from fellow Englishman Wilby. It doesn’t matter when it happens, sometimes you just need a loss to give you a reality check – in all walks of life European champion Adam Peaty “I can’t believe I beat what I did at the Olympics,” said Peaty. “I was in perfect shape then – I’m not even in that good shape now. I didn’t try to be in that good shape.” Britain then won a bronze in the mixed 4x200m freestyle relay after a stunning final leg from Freya Anderson, 17, who moved up from sixth to third.

Elsewhere on day three of the inaugural multi-sport championships, cyclist Ethan Hayter, 19, won omnium gold, defending champion Katie Archibald took silver in the 3,000m individual pursuit and the men’s four and women’s eights both won silver in the rowing. Hayter’s gold in the final event of the day moved Britain up to third in the medal table with three golds, five silvers and three bronzes. European Championships 2018: GB swim team storm back to clinch mixed relay bronzePeaty bounces back after Gold Coast disappointment Peaty had suggested in the build-up that he had a point to prove after the Commonwealth Games, where he was an underwhelming winner in the 100m breaststroke and was beaten to the 50m crown by South Africa’s Cameron van der Burgh. “It’s down to the training, down to Mel [Marshall, coach] keeping me humble. Obviously, the Commonwealths experience keeping me humble,” he told BBC Radio 5 live. “I wasn’t in the right frame of mind on the Gold Coast because it was April. I’d never swum a meet like that in April before, but this is the Europeans and I wanted to make my wrongs right.” Peaty, unbeaten in the 100m breaststroke for four years, added: “You can’t go out there and fight for a world record, you’ve got to let it come to you. “It doesn’t matter when it happens, sometimes you just need a loss to give you a reality check – in all walks of life.”

Wilby’s time of 58.54 was not only a personal best but also placed him in the top three men’s 100m breaststroke swimmers of all time, behind Peaty and Van der Burgh. “I was hoping for sub-59 and to do it by that much was special, especially with the swim Adam put in and a great 1-2 for Britain. I couldn’t be more happy,” said Wilby. Davies powers into final Earlier, Georgia Davies broke the European 50m backstroke record in her heat before she won her next race to book a place in Sunday’s final, but team-mate Kathleen Dawson went out in the semi-finals. Wales’ Davies, who won Commonwealth Games bronze in April, had set a new record time of 27.21 earlier on Saturday.

Liverpool ‘affecting Manchester United’s Harry Maguire pursuit’

Liverpool ‘affecting Manchester United’s Harry Maguire pursuit’

Manchester United could have to pay up to £75m for Harry Maguire – because Leicester are reportedly holding out for the same sum Liverpool paid for Virgil Van Dijk. Jose Mourinho has less than a week to add to his squad ahead of the new campaign with the transfer window closing on August 9. Maguire’s valuation has rocketed since his impressive World Cup campaign and Leicester will now hold out for £75m because they view on the same level as Van Dijk. The Dutchman became the most expensive defender of all time when he joined Liverpool in January and Castles claims Leicester want to cash in to the same level.

“From what I’m told, the pricing, if there is to be a price for him, will be £75m – they value him at the same level as Virgil van Dijk,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast. “That should probably give you an indication about why Jose Mourinho is reluctant to go down that route. “It’ll affect Everton, they’ve gone a long way in negotiations with Barcelona for (Yerry) Mina who they want to sign. “If they don’t get him they’ll have to move elsewhere, and interestingly one of their targets is Marcos Rojo, who United are prepared to sell.

“So, we’ve got these last few days of the window and Manchester United are scrabbling around trying to satisfy their manager to a certain extent, and what they are doing is going to impact on the other Premier League clubs who are chasing a centre-back.” Barcelona defender Mina is also believed to be on United’s target list as well as Toby Alderweireld from Spurs.

President Trump takes shot at LeBron in tweet

President Trump takes shot at LeBron in tweet

President Donald Trump took a shot at Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James in a tweet Friday night.

James was interviewed by CNN’s Don Lemon on Monday, after his LeBron James Family Foundation and the Akron (Ohio) Public Schools launched a new elementary school for at-risk children in his hometown. In the interview, James discussed the impact of sports and how it brings people together. He said he felt Trump was “using sports to kinda divide us.” “Sports has never been something that divides people,” James told Lemon. “It’s always been something that brings someone together.” Trump’s tweet came four days after the CNN interview originally aired. In the tweet, Trump also appeared to take sides in the LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan debate, saying, “I like Mike!” James has publicly criticized Trump before.

In September 2017, he called Trump a “bum” for rescinding his invitation to the Golden State Warriors to celebrate their championship with a visit to the White House. “Going to the White House was a great honour until you showed up!” James tweeted then. Also, that month, after Trump suggested that NFL players should be “fired” for “disrespecting the flag” when they take a knee or otherwise choose not to participate in the national anthem, James said Trump’s conduct is unbecoming of someone in his position. “He doesn’t understand the power that he has for being the leader of this beautiful country,” James said then. “He doesn’t understand how many kids, no matter the race, look up to the president of the United States for guidance, for leadership, for words of encouragement. He doesn’t understand that, and that’s what makes me more sick than anything, that we have someone that’s … this is the most, this is the No. 1 position in the world.” James has continued to be critical of the president and his policies, and in June, while still a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, James said neither his team nor the rival Warriors would accept an invitation to the White House after winning the NBA championship.

Trump subsequently said neither team would be invited. James made similar remarks regarding Trump and sports on Monday in an interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, adding that he has no regrets about criticizing him. “For someone to try to divide us by using our platform of sport?” he told Nichols. “Sport has given me everything I could ever ask for. I couldn’t let that happen.” As of late Friday night, James had not responded to the president’s tweet.
