A thrilled Ant McPartlin has ‘already visited’ close friend and presenting partner Declan Donnelly following the birth of Declan’s first child with wife Ali Astall on Saturday morning.
The troubled star, in the midst of an extended hiatus from TV following his latest stint in rehab, is said to be ‘obsessed’ with the couple’s newborn daughter, Isla Elizabeth Anne. Isla’s arrival brought some cheer to troubled McPartlin, who wrote on social media: ‘Welcome to the world, baby Isla Elizabeth Anne. Can’t wait for cuddles. I love you already! Uncle Ant xxxxx’.

Miss Astall, who is her husband’s manager, and baby Isla are expected to join the star for part of his time in Australia. A friend of the couple told The Mail on Sunday: ‘They are over the moon at Isla’s arrival. Nothing is confirmed yet but it’s very likely that Ali and the baby will head off to Australia. It will be a long time for Dec to be without his beloved baby otherwise.’
Meanwhile, James Bond star Daniel Craig and wife Rachel Weisz were last night celebrating the arrival of a ‘happy and bonny’ baby girl. Craig, 50, and Miss Weisz, 48, both have children with previous partners but are said to have longed for a baby together.
